What Is the ThriveAbia Programme 2026?

ThriveAbia programme 2026 is an expanded digital skills and mentorship program to help young people build practical skills for employment, freelancing and entrepreneurship.

On October 13, 2026, Governor Alex Otti approved the immediate expansion of the programme to 1,000 participants after a pilot phase that trained 100 young people.

The pilot had an 87% graduation rate, programme officials said, and more than half of the graduates had started earning in foreign currencies through opportunities associated with their training and mentorship.

The expanded programme will aim to offer more young people digital skills, business knowledge and mentorship to help them to be able to compete in the digital economy.

ThriveAbia Eligibility: Who Can Register?

ThriveAbia is designed for young people interested in digital skills, entrepreneurship and career development.

To know if you can register, check these eligibility points:

• Age limit: ThriveAbia’s official age range has not been confirmed. The TechRise programme uses 16–40 years, but this may not apply to ThriveAbia.
• State of origin or residence: Check whether applicants must be Abia indigenes, residents or both.
• Interest in digital skills: The programme focuses on digital skills, entrepreneurship and opportunities in the digital economy.
• Selection process: Be prepared for any screening or assessment required by the programme.

Note: The official registration guidelines will confirm the age limit, required documents and other eligibility conditions. Check them before registering.

How to Register for ThriveAbia in 2026

ThriveAbia is not open for registration through a verified registration portal. If the official form is released, prospective registrants can prepare for the process.

1. Follow the official announcement. Watch for updates from Abia State Government and authorised programme representatives. The announcement should provide the registration dates and registration instructions.
2. Join the NG Loan News WhatsApp Channel. We are tracking the programme so that readers can find the registration link without searching through multiple posts.
3. Prepare your personal information. So keep your details accurate and relevant identification information. Do not conclude that one document is mandatory until the official requirements are published.
4. Prepare for the selection test. Governor Otti has said that selection will be based on testing, and that results will guide the selection to the next step. Registrants should be prepared for a competitive process.
5. Submit the form when registration opens. When the official ThriveAbia registration link is available, use that portal and follow the instructions carefully. Don’t go for people who promise to secure a slot in exchange for money.

What Will Participants Gain from the Abia Youth Empowerment Programme?

ThriveAbia is part of the state’s overall strategy to prepare young people for the digital economy.

There are three areas of interest for participation in which they will benefit:

• Digital skills training: practical knowledge to prepare them for the technology and digital world and work on their career in digital sectors.
• Entrepreneurship training: advice on business ideas and income-generating opportunities.
• Mentorship: to assist them in developing skills and making career or business decisions with a mentor.

The exact courses, training duration, certificates and any additional participant benefits should be confirmed in the official programme announcement.

Will ThriveAbia Registrants Take a CBT Test?

Yes. The selection plan announced by the state Governor has a registration and CBT assessment process with test results that determine who advances to the next stage.

Governor Otti has directed the process to be transparent and merit-based. Computer-based tests and other assessments have been proposed to identify suitable candidates.

This means that registering will not automatically guarantee one of the 1,000 slots.

Is ThriveAbia the Same as TechRise?

No. ThriveAbia and TechRise are separate digital skills initiatives for Abia State.

Both focus on developing young people’s skills, but they have their own programme structures and registration processes. The published eligibility requirements for TechRise should not automatically be treated as the final requirements for ThriveAbia.

Hence registrants need to follow the specific guidelines for the programme which they wish to join.
